Kate Hudson’s Fabletics Making Amazon Nervous?

There really isn’t that much that makes Amazon nervous, unless of course you are talking a huge bite out of their profits. Even though Amazon commands 20 percent of the sales in the apparel niche, there appears to be some competition that is closing the gap very quickly. Kate Hudson’s Fabletics sells high-quality active-wear and workout apparel for women, and in three short years has taken $250 million in sales away from the competition. Sales have been climbing year to year, and there aren’t any signs they are losing any of that steam.

When Hudson was asked to expand on the success of her athleisure brand, she simply credits it to reverse showrooming and her unique membership package. This is not a typical Amazon shopping experience, and women are beginning to realize this is exactly how they want to be pampered when shopping. The consumer heads to the Fabletics retail setting at the mall and can grab their free membership, take the Lifestyle Quiz, do some window-shopping, or walk through the store and try on everything they like. The craziest part of the equation is many of these women will not buy anything at the retail setting.

So how does Fabletics make any money if the retail store is not pushing associates to sell merchandise?

Here is where Kate Hudson’s Fabletics stands alone when it comes to catering to the needs of its female shoppers. Women will wait until they can kick back and relax before heading over to the Fabletics website. Now since they already have worn some of the active-wear in the retail store, all those items are now sitting in the online profile. These women know the apparel fits them like a glove so what they do is choose the items they love, grab a few new arrivals, and even look for new styles based on the size they found flatters their frame. Women are simply spending more at the website because they know there will be zero surprises when the items arrive.

Now Kate Hudson’s Fabletics really knows how to take care of their female clientele too. Each member receives discounted pricing on all active-wear, free shipping on the online orders, and even the assistance of a Fabletics personal shopper. This pampering service is really resonating with customers, and if Amazon is not paying attention, Kate Hudson’s Fabletics could be the next big thing when it comes to buying high-quality workout apparel online.

Black Friday week is still going strong! Shop the sale in stores and online. (Link in bio)

The Success Story behind Human Right Activism

Over the years, conflicts within many countries have contributed to increased number of international migrants. Many people have moved from their country of origin and moved to other peaceful countries with the aim of starting a fresh life.

Many countries with increased influx of migrants are the western countries like the US, United Kingdom, and Holland among others. These countries have been referred to by migrants as a safe haven where greener pastures are easy to find. Due to escalating number of migrants internationally, some countries have started putting measures with the aim of reducing the number of migrants getting into their countries.

As such, we have witnessed an increased number of human rights abuses and illegal detentions. As a result, many human and civil rights organization have been established to help protect the rights of migrants. Through these bodies, many migrants have been able to seek justice from wrong doing from state organs. Some of this organizations are governmental and non-governmental in nature.

United Nations has also taken a key interest in the treatment of human rights. The UN has been at the centre-stage of formulating international laws that govern the movement and protection of asylum seekers. The programs launched by UN have helped many migrants to access basic amenities in life in their country of refuge or stay. The legislations made have been incorporated into the governing structures of many countries and government across the world given the international recognition of the body. In particular, the United States of America has witnessed increased number of human rights movement and organizations that have emerged in the recent years.

World Movement for Human Rights is one of the globally recognized activism body that has helped in the protection of people migrating from North and South America. The organization has outlined the basic tenets and rules that have helped the network to understand the lives of migrants and deal with them regardless of the country of origin.

The organization has developed a network that helps in tracking the country of departure and origin of many refugees and have documented evidence that helps them when finding a solution with authorities of countries regarding the refugees. The organization fights against impunity and perpetrators of violence as another important aspect of improving the lives of migrants.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are journalists that have contributed in the fight against the rights of migrants in the United States of America. They are the co-founders of Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media that have been at the center of advocating for change against the violation of human rights.

Their interest in the fight against violation of human rights came when they were arrested by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio on October 18, 2007. This is because they revealed the existence of a grand jury that sought to use their stories about the Sheriff.

Lacey and Larkin appealed against the ruling and were compensated $3.75 million. They have in turn invested the money in the fight against human rights abuses.
